GREENPOP GALA

GUEST GUIDE

The Greenpop Gala is a celebration of fifteen years of restoration and a commitment to the decade ahead. This guide is designed to help you prepare for an evening of refined wildness – ensuring your road to the Gala is as seamless as the evening itself.

What to Wear

The dress code for the evening is Botanical Black Tie. While we embrace the elegance of a gala, "penguin suits" are by no means required – instead, we invite you to use the Cape Floral Kingdom as your muse.

Draw inspiration from the fynbos biome – think deep protea pinks, moss greens, earthy ochres, and charcoal textures. Whether through a floral lapel, botanical embroidery, or a nature-inspired silhouette, we encourage a sophisticated interpretation of the landscape. In keeping with our mission, we encourage guests to consider the footprint of their finery. We celebrate creativity over "newness" and suggest the following sustainable paths:

Seats of Stewardship

True sustainability begins with the objects we choose to live with. Seats of Stewardship is a collection of functional art that celebrates the intersection of master craftsmanship and restorative material science. Curated in collaboration with leading South African designers, these pieces represent a "seat at the table" for the future of our planet.

From Houtlander’s groundbreaking chair grown from mycelium (mushrooms) to the narrative-rich collaborations of The Urbanative, Pedersen & Lennard, and Derrick Baard, this collection challenges the boundaries of South African design. Each piece is a functional reminder that we are part of a living, breathing landscape.

Journeys of Impact

While a standard safari offers a window into the wild, a Journey of Impact offers an invitation into its future. These are not merely escapes; they are immersions into the very biomes Greenpop works to protect. Curated for the conscious explorer, each journey in this collection provides exclusive access to Southern Africa’s most pristine landscapes, guided by a philosophy of deep stewardship and restorative luxury.

From the slow, cinematic heritage of the Rovos Rail to the rugged, ancient silence of the Bakkrans Wilderness, these experiences allow you to witness the frontline of African restoration. By bidding on these lots, you are directly funding the protection of the ecosystems you are invited to explore.
