Mandela Day 2026

We currently run weekly volunteer mornings at our Eco-Hub in Woodstock and monthly volunteer field trips to our local urban greening sites. These days offer a fun-filled and educational morning for everyone involved. Depending on the time of year, you might be potting indigenous seedlings, meticulously counting our nursery stock, or nurturing the fynbos in our urban gardens. Every action contributes to the tangible impact of our Urban Greening and Landscape Restoration projects.
What to expect:
- We will have activities for all ages, so kids are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult (parent or legal guardian).
- We'll have stations set up for various tasks such as organising, tool mending, stocktaking, pruning, weeding, decluttering, planting, and sign painting.
- Bring a snack along for the sharing table (vegetarian strongly encouraged) and meet some cool new people!
- Receive a personalised thank-you certificate from Greenpop to mark your 67 minutes of giving back!
What to bring:
- Dress weather-appropriate and ready to get dirty!
- Water bottle
- Gardening gloves (if you would like to)
- Sun hat (in case)
- Snacks for the share table
